If you’ve been to Pavilion Kuala Lumpur recently you might have noticed a long stretch of decorated floor at the centre court as well as at the Jalan Bukit Bintang entrance to the shopping centre. Pavilion is hosting an ‘International Kolam Festival’ in line with this year’s Deepavali celebration and Swarovski is adding some bling to the event with lots and lots of crystals!
The Kolam is a common feature during ‘The Festival of Lights’, adorning the entrance of Hindu homes. This intricate decoration made from coloured rice is used to invoke the blessings of The Goddess of Wealth, the deity Lakshmi.

The Kolam at Pavilion, touted to be Malaysia’s first 3-D Kolam is interspersed with Crystallized – Swarovski Elements, Swarovski’s patented light-filled crystals that have been used in the design world.

If you take a stroll through the stairs near the Pavilion Centre Court, you will be able to view how Crystallized – Swarovski Elements have been incorporated in the design world. Apart from adding shine and texture to the Kolam, the crystals are also used for decoration on tech gadgets and clothing designs.

Both the Kolam and the fashion creation are blinged out!
You can take in the wonderful sights of the ‘International Kolam Festival’ from now until Oct 18 at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur.

I thought it was really neat how the rope fence was made out of jasmine flowers. These little added details certainly add to the festivities!
