Sizzling summer brights in the Rizalman for Zalora lookbook
At recent fashion shows in town for Zakwan Anuar F/W 2013 and Rizalman for Zalora, models were sporting all sorts of beautiful blue on lids and shiny, vibrant orange lips. Sounds familiar? Apparently 80′s brights didn’t stray far from local fashion’s radar, and when it comes to a bold and brash take on beauty, we can rely on the decade for spades of inspiration.

Let’s break down the looks, shall we? First up are the lips – orange has steadily grown to become one of the top lip colour trends and we’re definitely not bored yet. Encompassing shades from slightly-too-bright-to-be-coral to true citrusy orange and reddened, richer variants, there’s an orange for every skin tone.
Blue eyeshadow definitely needs no introduction. Women throughout the ’80s thought it was the coolest thing ever to paint on blue lids to go with their vivid lipsticks. The colour since gone on be be shunned by many for it’s, uh, colourful past, yet remains one that’s back with a splash.
For blue eyeshadow sans the clown vibe, pick formulas with sparkly, shimmery finishes. Almost-teal blues are pretty for that mermaid touch while pastels are sweet and won’t overwhelm when paired with bright lips. If you want to go the matte route, try a vibrant turquoise all over, or on the lower lash line for a subtle pop.
